Blue Lights S3

Blue Lights, BBC Northern Ireland’s acclaimed police drama, used Studio Ulster's VP2 volume for car processing shots during the filming of season 3.
Traditional vehicle shoots often face logistical barriers such as road closures, unsuitable weather and working within tight production schedules. VP2 is tailored specifically for car processing and allows for a faster, more controllable alternative to traditional on-road filming. A major advantage of virtual production car processing at Studio Ulster is that it allows the production team to have precise control over lighting and reflections which would be otherwise difficult to achieve on location.

Blue Lights demonstrates how virtual production can be used to complement rather than replace a wider location shoot. VP2 acts as an extension of the production allowing for flexibility while minimising disruption and cost. This reinforces the dynamic nature of Studio Ulster and its ability to accommodate productions of all scales.
